The FOMA™ D905i is a 3G Symbian smartphone manufactured by Mitsubishi for NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA network in Japan. The D905i is a slide mobile enabled for “One-segment” terrestrial digital broadcasting and highlight playback.
The 905i series are variously equipped for advanced functions and convenient services, including 3G/GSM international roaming, HSDPA, "One-segment" mobile TV, GPS location information, enhanced "2in1™" combining the capabilities of two phones in one handset, and the DCMX™ credit card and iD™ credit payment services.
The highlight playing function picks up the selected parts of the video image and plays them respectively. There are 2 modes, sport mode and music mode. The sport mode highlights the scene where the volume of the commentators or the audience peak and the music mode picks up the section where musicians actually perform. Also, an auto-cut mode that cuts out all CF/CM and introduction from movies and drama films. A multi window allows i-mode™ connection and mailing during watching One-segment programs.
By tilting the mobile phone side ways, display changes its dimension from normal screen to wide screen. There is a character inside the display called Machikyara, which responds to the voice and sound as well as the motion.
